Lead Times

The truth is, good furniture takes time.

Every Relic Modern™  piece is built by me, start to finish, in my Minneapolis studio — no warehouse, no assembly line. I select and mill the lumber, join, sand, and finish each piece by hand. That care takes time, but it's also why the wait exists: it's the difference between something pulled off a shelf and something built for you, by hand, meant to last generations.

Entry Table

More information

About this Piece

Built around kerf-cut curved corners accented with a walnut inlay stripe, the Entry Table brings storage and surface into the kind of clean, architectural form the foyer or hallway usually doesn’t get. A dovetailed drawer with satin-gold Italian hardware stashes keys, mail, and small items; the lower shelf reads as sculptural but earns its keep as occasional-use storage. The piece works as an entryway anchor, a narrow hallway console, a foyer console, an accent table beneath wall art, or a landing surface in a home office — a direct companion to the Relic Modern™ End Table.

The Entry Table’s curved corners are formed with kerf cuts — shallow parallel slits through the layers of Baltic birch that let the wood bend into its final shape without breaking the line. Each curve is accented with a thin walnut inlay that catches the eye and plays against the striped Baltic birch layers on the body’s edges, turning a structural move into a signature detail.

Finished with a hand-rubbed oil and wax blend, the piece has a matte, warm look that enhances the natural grain of the walnut or maple.

Materials

Built from 13-layer solid wood Baltic birch with a walnut or maple face — a stable, sustainable core that doesn’t move with the seasons the way solid wood can. The layered Baltic birch edges are left exposed as a signature detail and a nod to the designers of the mid-century era.

Product FAQ

(01) How long until the piece ships? This piece is handmade to order in Minneapolis. Current lead time is listed in the box above the Add to Cart button. See Shipping, Pickup & Returns for details.

(02) Will the wood color change over time? Yes. The walnut face will deepen and take on warmer, reddish tones over the first year or two, and the maple face will warm into a deeper honey color — both are natural characteristics of the species and part of what makes the piece feel alive. The hand-rubbed oil and wax finish supports this patina rather than sealing it off.

(03) How do I care for this piece? Use coasters, wipe up spills, and keep rough objects off the surface. A damp cloth is all that’s needed for cleaning — no furniture polishes. The piece can be refreshed with a bit of furniture wax when it feels dry. Additional details are on the FAQ page.

(04) Can I see a wood sample before ordering? Yes. A wood sample of the Baltic birch with the chosen face — walnut or maple — and the oil and wax finish is available through the shop.

(05) Does this require assembly? No. The piece arrives fully assembled.

(06) Can I customize this piece? Slight customizations may be possible. Reach out before ordering to discuss.

(07) Can I see this piece in person? Yes. Entry Table is on display at the Minneapolis showroom, alongside the full furniture collection. See showroom hours or book an appointment.

At Relic Modern™, that means stripping every design down to its essential form and building it from high-quality Baltic birch with walnut or maple faces, finished with a hand-rubbed oil and wax blend that lets the wood speak for itself.
